I had a 2nd gen Nest thermostat for a few years and liked it alot. When Google notified me that they were discontinuing support for the older gen devices I got the 4th gen. Worst mistake I could have made. I have animals in the house and keep coming home to a house at 79 or 80 degrees. I have done everything the forums suggest and it still continues. Today when I got home it was hot and I immediately went to look at the thermostat. It had temp set at 82, which why it would ever do that I have no idea. While I watched it it changed to 70 and started cooling. The current temp was 79 inside. I will be telling everyone I can to stay away from Nest thermostats! This is just ridiculous.

I have had that same issue with both of mine
I just read they are discontinuing support for older models and you won’t be able to use remotely
for that alone I am not buying another of their products and hopefully my next t stat will do what i ask
