Google Thermostat - App shows C wire connected but thermostat shows C wire is missing.

i just installed a google thermostat with the power connector.

I am 99,9% everything is installed correctly.

On my google home app, i check wires and it shows

Y - heat/cool

C - 24V common

W - aux heat

G-Fan

R-power

*OB - heat pump

when i check the thermostat - i can run the power adapter test. it turns on my furnace. it shows that it detects the power connector. but when i go to wires it shows that C wire and OB wire are greyed out.

My heating is running non-stop on aux heat and house never gets hot.

Can you explain what to do?

Hi Vr6fern,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that the thermostat shows C wire is missing, heating is running non-stop but never gets hot.

Before I begin any troubleshooting, i'd like to ask you a few questions about your concern:

  • What kind of thermostat do you have?
  • To help us get a better picture of what's happening, do you mind sharing a photo of the wiring of the thermostat and the power connector installation?
  • Who did install the thermostat?

 Keep me posted

Best regards,

Rusell.
