Google next thermostat - cooling a/c not working

Hi,

  I installed google nest thermostat 1.14 yesterday. During setup via google app, gave message that C not detected.

All other wires Y, G,R,W works. After setup tested the system and found out cooling a/c does not work. Heating works. Both cooling and heating worked perfectly well before in old conventional thermostat. Please help.

Thanks for reaching out to our Nest Community. Sorry to hear this message on your Nest Thermostat. Let me give you a hand.

The thermostat uses power sharing to power itself. If your system doesn’t have a C wire or power connector installed and the power sharing doesn’t work, the Nest Thermostat relies on the batteries for power and might cause shorter battery life. If you install the thermostat on a system where they need a C wire, the thermostat constantly reminds them that a stable power source is needed. 

I recommend the Nest Power Connector to avoid this type of situation. 

Other tips I can give you are: Make sure all thermostat wires are fully inserted; Check that your system doesn't need maintenance. Factory reset and set up again.
