Has anyone run into the Nest thermostat showing cooling when it's in heat mode?

So ever since we moved I've noticed out Nest behaving oddly. It does not look like I can post a photo so I'll do my best to describe. 

Currently the Nest is set to heat, but I've seen it do this in cooling/heat as well. The app will say the house is cooling when in fact nothing is running. I swapped to Heat only and the temp was set to say 65, but it will be 67 and the app will show that the nest is cooling even though it's not actually running. I just find it odd. We've had this thermostat for at least 7 years, it's a Gen 3. Our heat and AC work just fine it's just app (both android and ios) that seems to say cooling when it's heating or not doing anything.

• Could you describe the wiring configuration connected to your thermostat or attach a picture? 

• Have you performed troubleshooting steps? If so, could you describe them?
