My heat is running in cool mode. I have heat pump. Disconnected the nest and manually connected heat and it worked. Pro came in and told me the same thing. Ie nest thermostat is broken.

anyone have same issue?

Same issue; yesterday.    Suddenly lost heat signal to HVAC at remote cabin.    Approximately a month ago similar and all I did was power-cycle the Learning Thermostat; that is after a 3 hr. drive.   Now I'm facing the same drive looking for answers as pipes about to freeze.   Appears there is no way to trigger a remote restart but considering adding a remote wifi power switch; seems silly but would turn off HVAC and Thermostat transformer.   Prior year, no issues.   I'm believing Nest software, along with the Google Home App changes, are impacting performance as hot (Orange display implying heat signal) goes to cold and no physical system changes.   I'm finding multiple people have commented the same/similar Heat/Cold signal issues; either not sending or opposite.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry to hear about what's happening.

Here's a few things to check for us to further isolate the issue:

  • Change the O/B orientation of your heat-pump.
  • Check your HVAC switch, fuse, filters and drip pans.
  • Restart your Nest Thermostat.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Ryan
