My thermostat has been turning on by itself even when it’s too hot for heating to be on.
its set at 18c and outside temp is 28c and yet it switched on. I called Google support and while the guy was friendly I felt like he didn’t have a clue on how to fix it. For example he told me to do the following:
-turn off bacteria prevention, - firstly this is a water feature not heating. My water is set to come on 3 times a day so bacteria prevention shouldn’t even activate as it’s if you don’t heat water in more than 48 hours.
-turn off nest sense - he said this may turn on heating if it senses movement
-turn off auto schedule - I do have a schedule set but it’s for 20c. As long as the outside temperature is above that it still shouldn’t activate.
I asked him this and he didn’t even seem to understand what I was saying. So I’ve been told to see if it happens again after these (probably useless) changes.
At least twice during the call a message popped up but I couldn’t read it before it vanished “Your Thermostat cannot control this equipment properly…” but he said he didn’t see it either.
Also if I check the activity of the nest there is no record of it being on. So other than me feeling the radiators are hot or seeing the display is orange I have no idea it’s happening.
