Out of the blue, the Nest seems to have taken over in some shape or form. While it will allow us to boost the hot water and appears to turn on the heating (i.e. it claims to be on and glows orange), if only the heating is turned on, the pilot light will often not be on.
And sometimes, when we've given up hope of having heating, it'll randomly fire up and the radiators will get warm, sometimes only for 30 mins or so before going cold again. There's no pattern to it. I have turned off the home and away assist and turned off schedule as neither seemed to have any impact on what would happen with the heating anyway.
We're based on the UK and have a 3rd generation Nest Thermostat.
