I saw that this was happening to people a year ago and I don't think it was ever resolved. This just started happening to me the beginning of January and I have tried everything. I did recently see that the home app was updated the beginning of January as well so I'm thinking there's a connection there but how do I fix it?

having the same problem and old and new nests will not come back to the app. google will not allow migration from old app

I'm sorry to hear you're both having issues with your Nest Thermostat, which goes offline in the app. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.
A few questions: could you please check your thermostat's power readouts on its equipment settings? Does your thermostat have a C wire or a Nest Power Connector installed? Also, have you tried the steps in this guide?
