Honeywell TF243WN/U to Nest Learning Gen4

Hi,

I'm new in this so I'd like to double check compatibility before I spend money. 🙂 Currently I have Honeywell TF243WN/U thermostat and I'm considering replacing it with 4th Gen Nest but going through the compatibility checker it seems that it is not compatible.

Honeywell unit consists of two parts: one that looks like an adapter where the main wires (L, F1-F3, v0, C and R) are connected and the main unit into which 9-wire cable with flat connector from this adapter is connected.

Main unit has following spec:

24VAC 50/60 Hz 3VA

Fan Load 220/230 VAC 50/60 Hz 4(2)A

Valve signal  0-10VDC 16mA MAX

On the unit that looks like an adapter it is clearly written that is is 220/230VAC

Can this be replaced with Nest?

Thanks in advance,

Mladen

Hi @Mladen123,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand you'd like to double-check the compatibility between a Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) and your system before purchasing the Nest Thermostat by comparing the current wires and specs of your Honeywell TF243WN/U. I appreciate the information you provided about visiting the Comparability Checker website and about the specs of your Honeywell device. I'm happy to assist you.

Even when you verify the information on the Compatibility Checker website and get unexpected results, there's always a possibility that your current system is compatible with the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen). You can do this by consulting with a local technician or a Nest Pro, who can adapt your system to work with the Nest Thermostat.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Anders

Thanks @AndersC

Yes, I'll have a chat with the local team. From what I learned in the meantime is that with adapters like Dropair (https://dropairs.com/) it can be done. However, this whole exercise significantly increases price so it is questionable if it is worth it.

Mladen
