Hot water will not come on. I have a nest learning thermostat. Heating working fine.

I have had the Nest Learning Thermostat for over a year, It was not used a lot as the house was being renovated. The hot water and heating worked fine. I recently connected it to the Android App and the hot water no longer works. I have reset everything and re booted. Heating works a charm but hot water does not come on. It makes the clicking noise at the boiler. The app doesn't change to orange and the water doesn't heat up. we have a system boiler set up. It also is only about 1-2 years old. Just serviced approx. 3 months ago. Hot water was working fine. Until I started connecting it to app and reinstalling software. Help please!

I assume you have an icon on the display for both heating and water - correct?

You say you hear clicking in the Heat Link, can you explain how you get the Heat Link to click?

For example are you saying when you turn the display to CALL for HEAT the click can be heard, or are you doing this another way to test the water?

Oh, and the obvious, have you checked the motorised valves are working if you have any fitted?

Question 1 - yes

Q2 I- the click is not in the heat link but I believe the boiler or around that area.

Q3 - yes when I call for water there is a click sound but nothing happens after that.

Q4 - no I have not checked motorised valve. I had just had boiler serviced - but how would I check this?

Your service person would be the best option, they do not check valves when servicing.

HI, In connecting to the Nest app I have lost the display for hot water. Day 5 without it and have tried everything I, in my ignorance, can think of. Really appreciate help.

Update- I had my electrician friend loom at it and he came from a different perspective. He checked the wire to the thermostat in the cylinder. he wire had been knocked and it was pulled out of the thermostat. In the end it was an easy fix. just had to connect a wire and it all works perfectly.

I had read this problem with a few people. So it may be worth to tell people to check the connections.
