How to reset a Nest account

How do I reset my Nest account?  I've been having repeated issues linking a thermostat to my account.  I've done two thermostats with the same errors (TD006, TD008, etc.) and done all the suggested troubleshooting I could fine.  As a last resort, I linked the thermostat to my backup account it worked perfectly fine.  As a result, I've asked Nest support, repeatedly, to reset my account, and they refuse to do it.   As such, is there a way I can reset it or disassociate my Nest apps from my account to for a reset or refresh?  I can't deal with chat or phone support anymore.

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation.

 

There is no way to reset a Nest account except to delete it as a whole and then start over. To do that, follow the steps below:

 

  1. Go to Google Account. 
  2. Tap Security. 
  3. Scroll down and look for Third-party apps & services.
  4. Tap Nest. 
  5. Select Delete all connections you have with Nest then tap Confirm. 

 

To create a Nest account again, follow the steps here
