Hi @Patches,

Thanks for reaching out here in the community! I'm sorry to hear that you've encountered the error E299 on your Nest thermostat. I'd be happy to help!

According to the information, this error message is for the Nest Thermostat (2020). Could you please confirm if that's the model you have?

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer

Hi @Patches,

Thank you for the information you've provided. It appears you have the Nest Thermostat (2020). This error message indicates that the C-wire is disconnected and unable to provide sufficient power. In this case, I'd like to ask if you have a physical C-wire connected to your Nest thermostat.

In case you have a physical C-wire connected on the thermostat, I'd suggest trying the following steps:

  • Restart your Nest Thermostat by going to Settings and tapping Restart on the thermostat itself.
  • Check that the C-wire is properly connected. Remove the C-wire and reinsert it into the terminal. Tip: Clean the wire with a paper towel. Sometimes the thermostat base can't detect the wires if they have dust. Important: Before touching any wires, turn off the power to your HVAC system at the breaker box.

Please keep me updated.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
