I keep trying to reply to PAUL_R but my emails are bounced back each time. From John29

I have, and think I’ve identified the problem. The prevent bacteria mode kicked in even though I had the heating turned to off on the Nest controller. If that has been happening during this prolonged cold spell while I haven’t bed. In the house, then maybe this is the cause of the very high power usage. I have a 9kWh water heater, so consumption can be very high! I have now disabled this feature.

Hi there @John29. You haven't been able to reply because my colleague closed the thread due to you not responding for a while. I'm glad to hear that you identified the issue, bacteria prevention will activate the hot water even if the hot water schedule is off and the home is set to Away. Is there anything else I can assist you with?

I will be able to check meter readings tomorrow and will then know whether or not the problem has been solved.

Hi Paul.

My power-consumption is now back to expected levels. It would appear that by disabling the anti-legionnaire Nest function, the ‘rogue’ use of electricity has been stopped.
