So as I stated we have as Midwestern ppl cal a split split home, or side to side split.

Picture entering your front door to livingroom / dining room go thru a doorway into the kitchen, thru a opposite door to a family/fireplace/multifunctionroom. You come to the entryway again (yes a rectangular circle) to the left is half a flight of stairs up. To the right a door with half a flight of stairs down to garage. If you go to garage you'll find directly to your left another door when opened a half flight down to basement (runs entire width and length of main floor)

Go back to main floor and up the first set of half flight of stairs will take you to 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one more half flight up leads to the 4th bedroom and a full doorway attic access ( i REALLY WANT TO SERIOUSLY CONVERT INTO A MASTER TO BEAT ALL MASTERS WITH A ENSUITE WITH SEPERATER SHOWER AND FULL SOAKER TUB WITH BUILT IN HEATER For tub!! Walk in closet and sitting area and a wall of Bookshelves and a couple skylights  ( much Later project)

Problem is.... we have 1 furnace and one AC UNIT and aside from RIPPING OUT THE DRYWAY GARAGE CEILING AND RERUNNING THE DUCT WORK PROPERLY I DONT THINK THESE SENSORS WOULD HELP... I REALLY REALL REALLY WANT SOMEONE HERE TO TELL ME ITLL SOLVE ALL THE ISSUES BIT I dont see how.

The master bath in winter feels like the Sahara but the living room might be 70° or in summer we set the ac to 72° and its the arctic.

Bit the 2 opposite smaller bedrooms across the hall need space heater or windows units... and Just forget the basement... currently has a dry basement system and is yet fully finished.

What's the soloution... additional sensors in each room (I think it'll give NEST a mental breakdown honestly) ... rip out the garage drywall and any if any was used insulation and get a duct specialist in to to reconfigure it PROPERLY AND EQUALLY, OR invest in a 2nd AC/Furnace  for that end of the home and duct them seperate. Which would allow original AC/FURNACE TO BE DUCTED FOR BASEMENT (& maybe the 4th bedroom cause its a straight shot UP and it is NEVER COMFORTABLE)

IF THIS HOUSE DIDNT HAVE GREAT BONES I DONT KNOW IF ITD BE WORTH THE **bleep** HEADACHE OR NOT LOL

TIA FOR ANY IDEAS OR ADVICE

R

It sounds like your split-level home has major zoning and airflow challenges. Simply adding Nest sensors may help a bit, but they won’t fully fix the uneven heating and cooling. The most effective solutions are either hiring a ductwork specialist to rebalance and reroute your HVAC system, or installing a second furnace/AC unit to create a true separate zone for the far end of the house. While more costly, these approaches will give consistent comfort across all rooms, including your future dream master suite.
