In accurate temperature readings

Tom84

I have just installed nest learning thermostat today.

I am having an issue with the thermostat temperature readings which is 3-4c above actual room temperature!

I reset it hoping it would fix with no effect!!

Any advice before I return it?

What did you use to compare the thermostat temp reading, if you say it's reading incorrect temp? Do you see a time that your target temp for heating will be achieved within an hour or 2 hours or in 20 minutes on the top of the target temperature on your thermostat?

Hi,

Many thanks for your reply

I compare it to Viessman boiler thermostat & Aqara temperature thermostat, both of them give same reading which is 3-4c below the nest thermostat!

Yes it shows time to achieve target temperature, which I have to set 4c above my target due the reason discussed.

Hi folks,

@Tom84 thanks for posting here in the community and for sharing with us what you've done. I understand your concern about the incorrect ambient temperature reading of your Nest Thermostat. To confirm, where did you install your thermostat? (in a room and on a wall or stand).

Give these steps a try:

  • Open the Nest App> Select your Nest Thermostat> go to settings> Nest sense> Sunblock> Turn it on.
  • Make sure that your Nest Thermostat is not placed near any heat source.

Keep us posted.

I appreciate your response, eveluna.

Regards,
Emerson
