Is 2.9 volts enough?

BoomerSquadz

Just installed a Nest Thermostat. Needed a Nest Power Connector as there is no C wire. System says my battery is at 2.945 Volts. I believe it requires at least 3.6 volts. What do i do from here?

Hi @BoomerSquadz ,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community. I understand that you have questions regarding the correct battery levels on your Nest Thermostat. I'll be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Before we continue, could you please reply to the following questions:

  1. What type of thermostat do you have?
  2. Is the thermostat showing an error code or low battery message?
  3. Does the thermostat have issues with connecting to the WiFi?

I'll be looking for your reply.

Best regards,

Derick.

Hey there!

Thank you for your reply. As I can see, everything seems to be good on your Nest Thermostat. We recommend installing a C wire or a Nest Power Connector to make sure that the system will provide consistent power to the thermostat and help the thermostat work properly. Below you will find some scenarios that require a C wire or Nest Power Connector.

  • When the heating or cooling is always on and won't turn off.
  • Heating or cooling intermittently turns on and off in a short period of time.
  • The thermostat screen shows a delay or starts in the message.
  • The system fan is always running or won't turn on.

You can take a look at the following article for more information: Nest Power Connector, Learn about the common or C wire.

I'll be looking for your reply,

Best regards,

Hello Derick- my system does not have a C wire. I have already installed a Nest power connector.

Hey there!

Thank you for your reply, and provide me with that information once you install the Nest Power Connector. The system will work properly, and the Nest Power Connector will help the system to hold the battery level on your Nest Thermostat.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us back if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Derick.
