Is there ANY way for 2nd Gen Nest Thermostat to have more than just the main temperature sensor?

I apparently moved in to a house with a 2nd generation Nest thermostat in the main room.

Is there ANY way to add a second zone or other temperature sensor to this system? Or is it only ever going to adjust the temperature by the room its in and nowhere else?

I realize (after buying one) that the extra sensors aren't compatible with my thermostat. Really pissed about that, but I want to know if there is ANY way to accomplish multiple temperature sensing with 2nd generation Nest. Multiple thermostats?

Hi Locane,

Thanks for reaching out to us. Google Nest has Nest Temperature Sensors, which you can install if you also want to adjust the temperature in a certain area of your home. However, Nest Learning Thermostat 2nd generation are no longer compatible with it; only the Nest Learning Thermostat 3nd generation, or the Nest Thermostat E. In this case, installing another Nest Thermostat will be helpful for you to adjust the temperature in other parts of your home.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Best,

Zoe

So they were compatible at one point, and Google took that away?

Ok, great, thanks - looks like I'm buying an ecobee.
