Issue with heat not turning on

I've been having an issue with the thermostat displaying that the heat is on when it reaches the appropriate temperature, but it doesn't trigger the heat to come on. If left alone, it will continue to display that the heat is on, which eventually triggers the "Potentially urgent heating issue" notification.

To get the heat to work, the fix that I've found is to keep turning adjusting the desired temperature higher and lower to trigger heat mode to start. Eventually that will sometimes make the heat start coming out, but it sometimes stops after it's started and the thermostat still thinks it's working.

Hello NestFan100,

I'm so sorry to hear that your system isn't heating up with your Nest Thermostat. I know how important it is to have a warm home, especially when it's cold outside. But I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

To isolate:

  • How often does the issue occur?
  • Does it show any wiring reports or message codes?
  • Are you experiencing an issue when activating your cooling?
  • Does it have a C wire?
  • Can you share with us a photo of your thermostat's wiring?
  • Could you provide a rundown of all the steps you've tried?
  • Gather the power readings in your thermostat's Technical Info settings.

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Mark
