Moving Nest to another room due to tempreture issues.

My Nest 2nd Gen Thermostat was placed by the installer outside my bathroom on the wall, this was where my old thermostat was.

Over time I have to keep increasing the tempreture of the Nest as once the heat is up to trmpreture although the temperature in the house drops, the Nest dosnt respond. This means that the house gets very cold.

My question is, I have purchased a stand for my nest and I am considering moving it into my living room where we spend most of our time. Will this help, will I need any passwords or have to re programme my nest.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Using a nest temperature sensor in the living room would be the best solution but unfortunately those are not compatible with Nest 2nd generations. If you relocate your Nest thermostat to the living room you will not need to set it up from scratch again, it will just work. I assume you are able to relocate the wiring to the living room.

Thank you for replying.

I have purchased a nest stand and the thermostat came with a power lead that has a wifi plug which feeds into the nest and a 3 pin plug for electrical supply.

Should this work straight away.

I think you are referring to the stand that you connect to a wall outlet and where you mount the nest backplate and then the nest display unit. That setup then communicates with the heat link, Yes this should work straight away.
