Moving and leaving nest to new owners

Please let me know if I have the step-by-step right to transfer the nest thermostats to the new homeowners.

1) I open my app and ??? just "sign out" under account?  

2) tell the new owners to download the app and set up a new home?

3) tell them to google "nest" to learn how to run the app and the thermostat, but they won't be able to control it until they get their wifi set up in the house?

Am I missing any steps?  Thanks in advance,
