NEST not turning on heat at desired temperature

MrNest1970

I have 2 NEST thermostats in my house, 1 of which I’m sure is glitchy. Before I go any further, both thermostats are identically set up and fully up to date. Have tried restarts and resets and still this glitch remains with one of them. Let’s say I set desired temp to 21degrees. It will heat and turn off as it should. The problem is that when the house cools down the heat won’t kick in again until somewhere between 20 and 20.5degrees. Doesn’t matter what desired temperature I choose, the same characteristics are observed. My other thermostat behaves as it should. Any ideas?

Hi MrNest1970,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. I'd like to take a closer look at it. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? In what country are you located? Do you see any messages or codes on your thermostat or in the app? Please provide your thermostat's power readings. Also, checking your thermostat's Energy History will help us to identify what your thermostat is doing previously.

You can follow the steps below to check your thermostat's power readout:

Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Look for Technical Info.
  4. Select Power.

Nest Thermostat 2020:

  1. Open the Google Home app and then tap the thermostat and then tap Settings .
  2. Select the Device Information.
  3. Choose Technical Information.

Best,

Jenelyn
