I am replacing an old nearly identical Nest thermostat with the brand new one.
The installation has been going well. I connected the wires and installed the thermostat. The message on the thermostat says Continue Installation in the App.
The last message I have on the phone says "Choose the last 4 characters of your device's serial number". I went to the packaging and did that.
Here's the problem...There is no "Next" button at the bottom of the page. The screen is basically locked up with the "Choose the last..." message. I can't bring up a keyboard to enter the characters. Pressing the < button does not take me back a step.

PROBLEM FIXED! But it's buggy. I turned off WIFI on the phone and it kicked me out. I went back into Home and it prompted me to setup the device again FROM THE BEGINNING. This time, when I got to the place where you pick the Serial Number, it already displayed a four digit number below the message that was not mine. I couldn't do anything to enter the correct one, so I clicked on it. I was able to complete the installation from there without ever entering my serial number.

Additional Info. My phone is connected to my WIFI and I am able to accomplish Google searches etc. on the phone. I am completely stuck. I can't do anything in the APP or on the thermostat device.

Thanks for posting in the community. I'm sorry that the app wasn't showing the "Next" option to complete the setup. It's great to hear that after some troubleshooting and doing the setup process again, you got the thermostat added. I'm glad that the issue is resolved.
