Need to replace my Nest Heat link

ScoutStar

Hi, I have a 2nd Generation Nest Thermostat, installed probably in 2018? I actually have 2, 1 upstairs and 1 down.  However, upstairs has stopped working. The thermostat on the wall in fine but the heat link appears to be dead. I have 2 heat links for each floor, Hence  the heatlink for downstairs looks fine with the light on but there isn't a peep out of the one for upstairs. Just wondering is it easy to replace this?

thanks,

John

Simple answer, yes it’s easy to change for another one. You will have to pair the display with the heat link, but that has been talked about on here dozens of times.

Hi ScoutStar,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that the thermostat from upstairs has stopped working because the heat link appears to be dead.

For now, i'd like to ask a few questions about your concern below:

  • How is the Heat Link being powered when you're trying to pair it?
  • Did you try to take the Heat Link out of Manual Mode?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you done before posting to us?
  • When was the thermostat installed?
  • Have you had any recent power cuts in your area?
    • If yes, has the error persisted since this power cut?
  • Has there been any recent work done on your heating system?

Also, if you are looking to replace it, we recommend that you contact a technician as this has high voltage. You can contact our partner for the installation Smart Thermostat Installation | OnTech.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Rusell.
