Nest 3rd Gen Thermostat flashing orange and green light

Worked fine for a year then stopped turning on cool air. Blows hot. Had A/C guy out and it isn’t the system, it’s the Nest. It flashes an orange then green light when this is happening. Last time, I did a factory reset and it worked for another month. Now it’s doing it again and the reset didn’t fix it.
there are no codes - just those lights.
please advise.
thank you

Hello Krreedy,

Thank you so much for posting in this community. I’m sorry to know your Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen) is flashing orange and green lights; also, the cool air has stopped turning on. Don’t worry, it’s a pleasure to help.

I appreciate your effort and time completing the troubleshooting steps described in this post. To provide you with accurate information, please help me out by answering the following questions.

  • Could you please verify the thermostat battery level? To check this information, go to Settings > Technical Info > Power. Find the number labeled “Battery."

  • Have you tried to charge up the thermostat by connecting a micro USB cable to the port on the back of your thermostat?

I'll be looking forward to hearing back.

Best regards,

Daniel
