Nest 4th Gen Blower Delay

I have a 4th Gen learning Nest attached to a newer Lennox furnace. Before the Nest, when the furnace would go on, a pre-fan would start, then the burner would ignite, then a 60-90 second delay before the main blower turned on.

With the new Nest, evrything turns on at once. My furnace tech says that should not happen. Is there a way to turn on blower delay for the 4th gen Learning  Nest?

Go to thermostat settings in the app. Go to advanced, go to thermostat, go to heat confirmation and turn off activate fan when calling for heat.

Hi merkaba1,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

I’m sorry to know that your Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) isn’t working as you expected. I understand that before having your thermostat, when your furnace would go on, a pre-fan would start, then the burner would ignite, then there would be a 60-90 second delay before the main blower turned on, but with the new thermostat, everything turns on at once, and now you are looking for the way to turn on the blower delay for the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen). No worries, help is here.

Before I start further troubleshooting, let me ask you a few questions:

  1. Did the issue start since the installation of the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen)?
  2. When was the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) installed?
  3. Is the fan controlled by the thermostat or the furnace?
  4. Could you please send me a picture of the old thermostat wires before you remove it from the wall?
  5. Could you please send me a picture of the wires that are in the control board?

Thanks for your kind attention; I will be looking forward to your answer.

Best regards,

Virna
