Nest App versus Google Home for themostats

So....I have 2 homes and 2 nest thermostats. I recently had to replace a Gen 1 Nest Learning Thermostat in one, with the latest model. I cannot make the new device appear in the Nest App, and I cannot get the old one to appear in Google Home. So I'm stuck using both apps. Any suggestions? Thanks

Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E are setup in the Nest app, but should show up in the Home app once setup. If not, factory reset the device and it should resolve that issue.

Nest Thermostat is setup and designed exclusively for the Home app. It can’t be connected to the Nest app.
