Nest Gen 3 Battery Issue

Purchased  Neat 3rd Gen Thermostat less than 1 year ago for $300 at Home Depot. Very disappointed after seeing this post 3rd Gen Nest Learning Thermostat - Battery Issue https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Thermostats/3rd-Gen-Nest-Learning-Thermostat-Battery-Iss...

How  can you sell this product that has no battery life span and you can’t replace the battery.

??

@Lorrene

How do you have the thermostat wired?

Is there a C wire installed

@Lorrene

Do you currently have battery issues?

I'm confused.

Many people don't have a C wire install and will experience battery issues because of it.

Yes the Nest thermostats are designed to work without a C wire, but the real word truth is the power stealing that keeps the battery charged doesn't always work and only provides a partial charge to the battery,
