I set the A/C to 73. It shows the temp in the room is 74 and the A/C is not on. It will come on at 75 which is NOT 73. Same issue with the heat. A difference of two degrees past the set point is required to kick on the A/C or heat? I have a Nest Gen 3 silver dial thermostat. Factory reset and wifi update all done. Wtf? Also, no way to calibrate the temperature sensor in the unit. Yes I have a C wire and nothing is wrong with the battery or wiring. My old Honeywell did not do this. This is an expensive product for this to act in a different way than intended.

Hi Darkdeepsea,
Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear about the frustration you're experiencing with your Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation. It's certainly frustrating when the temperature readings and activation thresholds don't align with your settings. A few questions:
I'll look forward to your response.
Best,
Zoe

Hi Zoe,
SOLVED I figured it out. There are integers between the degrees. Like 70, 70.25, 7.5,7.75,71. You have to dial it to 69 then 70 to make sure it's not in a quarter, half or three quarter degree. The app doesn't have this feature. I'm in the U.S.
