Anyone know how the Nest Gen 4 Advanced Configuration Settings work? When a heat or cool temperature difference is set, is the same value used for turning off and on above or below the set temp (ie the swing). Also, how does the AUTO setting (default) work?
Thanks!

Hello @Michael69,
Thanks for posting in the community.
I understand you are having questions about how advanced settings work with the Nest Thermostat 4th generation.
The advanced settings on a Nest Thermostat 4th generation allow you to fine-tune how your thermostat operates, including features like setting custom temperature presets (Comfort, Eco, Sleep), adjusting Eco Temperatures, enabling Adaptive Comfort to automatically adjust based on your presence, managing fan speeds, and even setting specific heating and cooling schedules for different times of the day, all aimed at optimizing energy efficiency based on your usage patterns and preferences

Hi Catheryn ... thanks.
The Specific setting I am asking about can be found from the HOME app by going to Settings -> Thermostat -> Advanced configuration and are not covered in that article. I think they may be newer.
Thanks again.

Hi Michael69,
Thanks for your reply. This helps to understand better about your question. The advanced schedules help when your heating or cooling turns on and off frequently, and this can use more energy and increase wear on your system. The advanced schedules eliminate this, and here you have a link with all the information that you need to know about this and how it works. Please visit the thermostat maintenance band.
I will be waiting for your response and let me know if you have any other questions.

Manuel

Hi Michael69,
I'm glad the link I sent you was helpful. Regarding your second question, I understand that you're asking how the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th generation) learns and creates an automatic schedule during the week and then automatically changes the temperature.
I recommend visiting the following page for more information: Use Smart Schedule on your Nest Learning Thermostat (4th generation). On the link, you will learn how it works and how active and deactivated it is.
I hope this helps!

Manuel
