Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd gen 2022 too hot to touch

Hello community,

New Nest user here since August 2022. Had three of the 3rd gen learning thermostats installed and all were working fine until couple of days ago when one of them felt very hot to touch. I tried restarting but no changes. It reads 95*F but I know it is only about 77 in the room. Could you please help? I have atached the wiring and thermostat pics.

Hi RookieNestuser,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Can you check for the following below?

  • Go to Settings, then Technical Info, and then Network.
  • Get the Signal strength value.

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe

Hi, I contacted Nest and they are sending a replacement. probably some fuse issue.

Hello folks,

I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

Thanks for looking into this, Zoe and Edmond.

@RookieNestuser, we appreciate you for updating us. I'm glad to hear that it was sorted out and that you had your thermostat replaced. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread within 24 hours unless I can help out with anything else.

Regards,

Mark
