I wanted to see if my system would be compatible with the Nest learning thermostat. The comparability checker says yes since mine has R and W, but I noticed my wires have no colors to them so I wanted to double check if they would still work.

@sammytron , you are joking right? That wire is wrapped in asbestos fibers. You absolutely need to have a new thermostat cable installed and get rid of that 80 your old wires you currently have.

Hi folks,
Thanks for posting in the Google Nest Community forum. I'm sorry for the delay. It looks like you only have a heating system. It would be compatible with the Nest Learning Thermostat. However, please do the suggestion of CoolingWizard for your safety and for the safety of your device.
Also, you can visit this support article for your reference on how you'll install your Nest learning Thermostat.
@CoolingWizard, I appreciate your input, we'd appreciate it as well if you could keep your comments kind to those seeking help. Thank you.
Best,
Jenelyn
