Nest Learning Thermostat will not follow Schedule for cooling

I have set schedules for both heating and cooling. I also have the following features turned OFF:

  • Home/Away Assist
  • Auto Schedule
  • Cool to Dry
  • Eco

In Heating mode, it follows the schedule as expected. In Cooling mode, it does not follow the schedule. I have changed the schedule for cooling to see if it will somehow update, but it won't. 

To make matters even more confusing, if I set it to Heat/Cool mode (where there is a min and max set temp), it will follow the heating schedule for the min temp, but not use the cooling schedule for the max temp.

I don't think I've missed any setting that could be affecting this, but I'm open to anything I may have missed.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with the schedule of your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

 

  • Does the cooling work if you manually change it?
  • What does the thermostat say when it's supposed to cool while it's on Heat - Cool mode?
  • How is your Nest Thermostat wired?

Yes, the system will cool to any manual temp set. The only problem I've found is that it won't follow the programmed schedule for cooling. In Heat-Cool mode, if the temp is below the cooling set temp, it will cool. 
 
Not sure about wiring. The unit is in a vacation rental about 200 miles away, so I cannot check it anytime soon.
