I just got home in 35F weather to my AC being on because my thermostat thinks it’s 90 degrees and not 65 degrees in the house. I took the face off and the AAA batteries were hot to the touch. Removed and temp dropped in the unit. Replaced the batteries and that worked for about 5 minutes before the thing started to heat up again.
