Nest Thermostat has a mind of its own.

I have 2 Nest thermostats and they are currently set at 63 heat and 68 cool. Went out for 2 hours and came home to 82 degree on main level.

we went on vacation over Christmas and did not change the thermostats. Got a notification from our neighbor that something was wrong at our house. I checked the app and the temp upstairs was 95 degrees and downstairs was 92 degrees. Why would the nest do that? The temperature outside was between -6 degrees to 38 degrees

Hello LFANeely,

I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat isn't staying at the temperature that you set. I'm sure that is frustrating, but I wanted to see how I could help.

Could you please tell us what Nest Thermostat models you have? If you have the learning thermostats, make sure to disable the auto-schedule and the Home and Away Assist to avoid random changes in the temperatures. Also, check your temperature schedule, which might override your target temperatures. Clear or edit if needed.

Please let me posted on how it goes.

Regards,

Mark
