Nest Thermostat not connecting to Wi-Fi

SimonB2
Community Member

Hi there hoping for done help please.

I’ve recently changed to BT fibre connection and my best has stopped working. I’m not sure if it’s just a coincidence though.

All other devices in the house are fine. My thermostat just says not connected, will not connect if you type in the details and will also not connect to a no iPhone hotspot.

I have done all the resets with router and nest thermostat but no joy.

Please help!

I have tried connecting to 2.4ghz only and still no joy.

could the thermostat be faulty?

@Markjosephp  sorry I’ve been away so didn’t pick up messages and original thread is now locked.

Simon

Hi SimonB2,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. I'd love to help.

Lets sort this out:

  • Do you receive other messages or code aside "not connected"?
  • Does your Nest Thermostat detect any other Wi-Fi network name?
  • Try to disconnect your phone to your Wi-Fi then turn on your cellular data to use for hotspot then connect your thermostat.

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Jenelyn

Thank you for the reply. Google replaced the thermostat as it was only 6 months old. The new one connected to my Wi-Fi within 30 seconds so clearly a connection issue there. Thanks

Hey SimonB2,

Sounds great! Thanks for letting me know, and I'm glad to hear that you have a new thermostat. It looks like we have come to a solution, so I'm going to lock the thread within 24 hours unless I can help you with anything else.

Best,

Jenelyn
