Nest Thermostat won't turn on heat

Hi all

I have just purchased a Nest Thermostat E to replace a Polypipe PBPRP thermostat. I went through the compatibility checker but got stuck at the point where it asked about the labels on each of the wires, as the wires weren't labelled. There were two wires, one red and one black. There were a few other wires coming out the all, but these weren't connected to the thermostat.

Anyhow, I followed the set-up instructions, but the thermostat fails to turn the boiler on. When I manually turn the temperature up, the heat link gives a double click, which may suggest that it it trying to turn the boiler on, but then straight away turns it off. I went with this model so that I could install it myself, so am reluctant to call someone out. Any help would therefore be much appreciated!

Thanks

Jonathan

I paid someone to do it, and now all working. I should learn that I can't do DIY....

Confirm that you connected the two wires to the C and NO screws on the Nest E Heat Link.

Return it and get another one as it sounds broken.

Hi there. Just checking in. How's it going with your thermostat?

Hi there and thanks for reaching out. Let's check on this. Can you tell us what type of boiler you currently have, a combi or a system one? The combi boiler has water on demand and the system comes with a separate water tank.

Hey @spet2522. I'm glad to hear it's working. I'll lock this thread, but if anything comes up, feel free to open a new one.
