Hello MGodbey69,

Thanks for reaching out about your account access issue for your Nest Thermostat. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

If you can no longer reset your Nest account to create a new password, A connection reset would help, so you can add your thermostat to your new email account. Do you already have one? If not, here's how to sign up for Gmail or create a Google account. Then, please follow these steps to remove the existing account connected:

For the Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E.

  • Go to Settings > Reset > Account Connection > Reset.
    • This will remove it from your current account and disconnect you from the Wi-Fi network.
  • Reconnect it back to the Wi-Fi in the network settings.
  • Proceed by adding it to the Nest app with your new email account.

For the Nest Thermostat 2020 model:

  • Go to Settings > Account > Disconnect.
  • Proceed by adding it back in the Google Home app.
  • Factory Data Reset (optional) only if asked.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Mark

Hey there,

I'm checking back in. Were you able to do the steps above? I'd be glad to hear from you; I'd like to make sure everything is working.

Thanks,

Mark
