Sunblock Not Working

JDMoc
Community Member

This function is broken and I've not read anything that leads me to believe it can be fixed. My nest learning (latest model) gets hit at 8:50AM and sensor shoots to 80f. SW Florida in February.

If I don't manually adjust it, the room will go to 70F in 30 minutes.

I have a thermoscanner and the face of the Nest is reading correctly, the function is simply not working.

Has Nest tested this? Probably not. I'd love to hear that Nest has tested this function and it works. But they are probably just looking at code and the sensor itself and figuring it must work.

I've read many post. Has anyone come forward to say they actually use this function and it DOES work?

I don't think it does.

Hello JDMoc,

Thanks for reaching out about the broken sunblock feature on your thermostat. I'd love to know more about this.

I understand that it helps adjust to a more accurate temperature when it’s in direct light. But could you please clarify to us the Nest Thermostat model you have? Also, when was it installed?

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Mark
