Nest thermostat blinking green and orange

Hello, our nest thermostat has a blinking light pattern of green, orange, green. The screen also won't turn on. I've tried unplugging the unit from the base and trying to charge it via USB for a few hours. After charging and reattaching it to the base, the screen turns on and displays a range of temperatures (67 to 96 F). During this time, the green and orange lights are still blinking. After a few hours, the screen turns off and will not turn on again until it is charged via USB. For what it's worth, the thermostat and base plate are hot to the touch, and the air blower still works, but the heat won't turn on. Please advise.

Hello Kanavarro10,

Thanks for reaching out. I hope that you're okay, and I appreciate all the steps you've taken.

A power-related concern is most likely the possible issue you're experiencing with your Nest Thermostat. To isolate:

  • Is this a first-time installation?
  • Could you please share with us photos of your previous and current thermostat's wiring?

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Mark

Hello. Thanks for your support. A Google rep walked me through troubleshooting my device. They concluded that the thermostat was faulty and sent me a replacement unit. This was received and installed last week and everything seems to be in working order
