Nest Thermostat

Afternoon, I have the Basic Nest Thermostat that was installed by our local Power Authority. I wanted to be sure that locking the thermostat was not available on these basic thermostats. Everything that i have read is pertaining to either the NEST E or the Nest Learning ones. I have looked on my setting and there is nothing that suggests that there is a locking feature in either the settings on the thermostat or the app.

The lock feature is available to the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E. Could you tell us which Nest Thermostat you're using?

We have the Nest Thermostat, not the Nest Learning or the E

I have not seen any way to Lock, so that is probably on available on the Learning and E.

We have a rental that only has 12 more days. So i have been using a schedule that changes the temp hourly. So even if the renters drop it below 70 degrees it will change back on the hour

Thanks for this additional detail and for sharing what you've been doing instead as a workaround. 

Yes, I'm afraid that our new Nest Thermostat with the mirrored display does not have a lock feature. Rest assured that we're always working on ways to improve so we'll take this as feedback.
