- How far is your thermostat from your router?
- Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near your thermostat? These devices could interfere with your Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signal.
- Have you confirmed that your network settings are compatible with Nest? Refer to the Help Center article on Recommended Wi-Fi router settings Nest products.
- Are you using an Android or iOS device?
In the meantime, let's troubleshoot the Nest app and Nest thermostat following these steps:
- Network Connection: Ensure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same WiFi network as the thermostat.
- App Updates: Verify that you have the latest version of the Nest app and your mobile device's software.
- Restart the Nest thermostat.
- Wi-Fi Toggle: For 10 seconds, disable and re-enable Wi-Fi on your mobile device.
- Router Reset: Restart your router and modem, along with any Wi-Fi range extenders or repeaters.
