Nest blowing hot when its on cool. I dont have a heat pump.

Just received a nest 3rd gen thermostat as a gift.  Wired it and installed but it blows hot air when set to cool.  I dont have a heat pump.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience that you are experiencing whit your new Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd Gen. I can see that you just installed and you set it for cool but it is blowing hot air. Let’s solve this together. 

To better assist you, I need some extra information. Here are some questions for you:

  • What kind of HVAC system do you have?
  • Do you have a common ground wire or C wire?
  • Do you have a picture of the wiring of the old and the new thermostat?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you taken?
