I just replaced my Nest gen 2 thermostats with gen 4 ones.
Firstly they are large, ugly, obnoxious. Get a gen 3 if you can.
Secondly, there is no early-on setting, starting to heat based on room and outside temps to get it to the desired tempo by the scheduled time. Maybe it is covered by Net sense - Smart schedule, But that is not explicitly stated.
Any ideas?

Hi @skohalmi,
Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) is not what you were expecting. I understand how difficult it might be not to find the setting that performs the Early-On function to start heating in time to reach your desired temperature. I'm glad to help you resolve this.
To use the Early-On setting, please follow the steps below:
To learn more details and troubleshooting about this feature, please refer to this article: Early-On.
Let me know if you have any questions or need more information.

Same problem here. I just installed the 4th Gen and it is terrible. Not as user friendly as my Nest 3rd Gen. No Temperature preferences > Early-On. But I have Temperature Presets only. No early-on options.
