Nest indoor temperature inaccurate

Vonmueller26
Community Member

For the last 24 hours the indoor temperature on the nest thermostat reads 80ish degrees while the house is closer to 70. The thermostat is in the center of the house, not in sunlight or near a heat source. The thermostat is also about 6ft away from the wifi router with good signal strength. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Hi Vonmueller26,

Thank you for posting in the community. I apologize that your Nest Thermostat is displaying the wrong indoor temperature. I appreciate the detailed information and insights you provided. I understand how frustrating this must be. I'm here to help.

To further assist you, please answer the following questions:

  • What type of Nest thermostat do you have?

  • When was the thermostat installed?

  • Where did you install your Nest Thermostat?  (room, wall, or stand)

  • Do you have other active Nest Thermostats? If so, do they exhibit the same situation?

  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

  • Is the situation continuous or under specific circumstances?

  • Have there been any recent changes to the HVAC system?

  • Have there been any power outages or power fluctuations?

Please keep me posted. I'll look forward to your response.

Regards.

Byron
