Nest is running furnace at less than full capacity

The nest learning thermostat runs my AC just fine, and has for over a year. I turned the heat on this weekend for the first time since I installed the thermostat (I live in FL) and the air coming out of the vents did not seem very warm. The little light at the top was also blinking orange/green and only when the heat is on.

I measured the temperature of the air exiting the vent at 81 degrees. I took the nest off and connected the white, green, red wires directly with a wire nut to activate the furnace and fan and the air was 91 degrees, 10 degrees more than with the nest. I then tried with my old, dumb thermostat and again the air was 91 degrees. So it’s clearly the nest.

The nest is wired correctly since when it calls for heat the fan goes on and the 81 degrees is much warmer than the ambient air if it was just the fan (which I also tested and was 70 at the time).

Any ideas on why/how the nest is activating the furnace, but not at all full strength?

Here is what I’ve tried so far with no success:

1. Restart.

2. factory reset.

3. Put the white wire in the yellow terminal (yellow wire removed of course) and told the nest to call for AC. Same result, furnace activated and air was 81 degrees.

4. Went into equipment pro settings and changed the white wire from check (yellow) to green (complete). F0F4BFF6-17D3-4B17-9540-F8B093EC499E.jpeg

Is this a natural gas furnace or electric heating coils furnace?

This is not a Heat pump i assume since I do not see a OB wire connected.

It’s an electric furnace/AC combo split system. No heat pump.

Very strange it works when you hard wire R to W but not with the Nest.

Only thing I can think of is try moving RH wire to RC on Nest then update the wiring info (it should prompt you there was a wiring change).

It also works with dumb thermostats, not just when I hard wire R to W. I moved the R wire from Rh to Rc and got the same result of the air being only 81 degrees at the vent.
