Company just installed a new Ruud heat pump. I am using a Nest learning thermostat which I have used for several years. I set my A/C's target temperature to 77 degrees. Have used this setting for years and system runs for approximately 8 hours a day.
When the new system was installed, the run time to 77 degrees increased to 11 to 12 hours each day. The system (air handler & condensing unit) continues to run for over an hour after the target temperature is reached. The A/C technician cannot solve the problem and all my efforts get nowhere.
