Help! Thermostat Wi-Fi dead again

"Searching: No networks found yet"

Hello! This is my second reporting of the same issue, now with the thermostat you provided to replace my original. It worked for weeks, then connectivity died (weeks ago, but this thermostat isn't my #1 priority) while leaving the rest of the functionality working.

Settings > reset > all settings > "Resetting to factory defaults" > English US > Equipment > Homeowner > [wire identification seems fine] > Continue > [system ID seems fine] > Continue > Gas > Forced air > Nest app > Continue > QR code > Error! Unable to start device pairing (etc.)

Also fails to connect with my Wi-Fi.

Strongly considering dumping this tech.

Hi ProfG,

Thanks for reaching out about the Wi-Fi connection on your Nest Thermostat.  I understand it can be frustrating when things aren't working as expected. But don't worry let's try to connect the Nest Thermostat again. If your Wi-Fi network doesn’t appear in your Google Nest thermostat’s network list during setup, follow these steps.

  1. Restart your router
  2. Check for a W5 help code
  3. Type in a hidden network name
  4. Restart your thermostat
  5. Check for wireless interference

If the issue persists you can check the "Troubleshoot setup: thermostat doesn’t show your Wi-Fi network" article for more detail information.

Let me know if you have any questions while troubleshooting.

Best regards,

Jenny
