after five (5) years of successful operation, my nest learning thermostat 3rd gen started going offline due to low battery. i can charge the battery via usb cable and reinstall for a few days of connectivity. my question is have any of you replaced the onboard battery? if so, how did you source the battery? google appears to guide me to a nest pro. i'd rather replace the battery myself. also prefer to procure a like-kind battery as opposed to a cheap knock-off. i want to have the new battery on-hand for disassembly one time. anyone know the part number of the battery and where to obtain?

Hi gfleck07,
Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let's sort this out.
We don't recommend replacing the Nest Learning Thermostat's battery since the thermostat alone can be charged with the help of a micro-USB cable. A question: For how long are you charging the thermostat display, and for how long does it last after charging it?
I'll look forward to your response.
Best,
Zoe
