Nest learning thermostat scratched sensor

Community Member

Is there a way to replace the sensor part at the bottom of the nest learning thermostat?

Like many people I assumed that softer cheap looking plasticky part was a sticker to be removed so now it’s scratched & looks really ugly. In trying to polish it up it’s now made it worse. Ridiculous ill-thought out design for such an expensive item and a part in use so frequently!! Especially when it’s such an obvious feature in the home. Do better Google!

Hi Opprobrium,

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. I'd like to take a look at this for you.

A few questions: is the product new, or has it been installed or working for some time? And did you accidentally damage the device?

I'll look forward to you response.

Best,

Zoe

Thank you for the reply but honestly I’ve just given up on Google smart home devices. I’ve given this to the charity shop. Every Google smart device I have is not as good as the other well known rival brand, and every time I contact anyone at Google about them they never just offer a replacement or refund or solution, it’s always 100 questions, most of which I can’t answer easily. I’m just going to replace my existing products over time with the other brand. Why are none of your items as good as the rival? The doorbell, cameras, speakers, thermostat, smoke detector, I have them all, and all are not as good as Amazon. I’m done.
