Nest not cooling after installation

Before the nest installation my thermostat was working perfectly. Had no issues. Just wanted to create a Google ecosystem. I ordered a nest thermostat and installed it as directed but it wasn't cooling my home as it said it was. I even tried changing settings, triple checking the wires, and restarted the thermostat a few times and it only helped for a few minutes then it went back to heating my home to 95°F unintentionally. I searched online for answers and everyone is saying it is my HVAC system malfunctioning although I completely removed the nest thermostat and installed my old one with the same wires and setup and everything is back to normal. What can I do?

Hi @DeltaX24

We're here to help! It sounds like you're encountering difficulties with your Nest Thermostat after installation. To investigate further, I'll need some additional information:

  • What type of HVAC system do you have? (e.g., forced air, boiler)
  • Can you tell us the model of your Nest Thermostat? (This information is usually found on the back of the device)
  • Would it be possible to share pictures of your old thermostat's wiring and the wiring connected to the Nest thermostat? (Clear pictures will help us diagnose the issue)

Here is a helpful article that can help you to identify the Nest Thermostat you have.

All the best,

Josh
